24/26 We are seeking to recruit a Technical Administrator on a 6 to 9 month fixed term contract to join our Fall Arrest Team within our Safety Products Testing department. About the Department SATRAs Safety Product Testing team conducts testing on a wide range of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for a global customer base, to ensure products meet a minimum level of protection. PPE tested includes gloves, fall protection, motorcycle garments, high visibility clothing, eyewear, helmets, hearing protection, chainsaw garments, kneepads, sports protection, plus many more. The department consists of a number of accredited laboratories, housing a range of test equipment and machines, used by the team to test the physical properties of PPE against International and European standards. Results from testing are reported to customers and used for their product development or to apply for CE or UKCA certification. The Safety Product Testing team consists of around 25 multiskilled technicians, technologists and other support staff, arranging and conducting the testing of PPE. Key Responsibilities Respond accurately and professionally to customer enquiries within agreed timeframes Fulfilment of general administrative duties associated with the creation and booking-in of customer projects and product samples Fulfilment of general administrative duties associated purchasing equipment and consumables Maintain contact with the customer base via telephone, email, on-site meetings and video call Maintain accurate data on the company CRM system Liaise with the testing teams and customers to raise testing and audit quotations Liaise with testing team members, team leaders and customers to book customer visits. Liaise with other departments and subcontractors to arrange calibrations and testing works Assist with equipment calibrations and maintain equipment records. Acquire a technical understanding of customers products and SATRAs range of PPE services Develop a good working relationship with both colleagues and customers About you Essential A minimum of GCSE Grades A-C in Maths, English and a Science (or equivalent qualifications/experience). Highly organised and self-motivated Inquisitive and a natural problem solver Ability to prioritise work and multitask across several initiatives Strong interpersonal skills and able to build rapport with both customers and colleagues at all levels Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly competent in the use of Microsoft Office products, including MS Word and Excel Desirable Auditing or similar compliance experience Understanding or experience using a range of PPE products Understanding of test methods or EN, ISO or BS standards Experience of a database system (Dynamics if possible) Good understanding of the SATRA quality management system or an external QMS Benefits Include Staff benefits include 25
