An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Author based at Westlakes Science Park/Sellafield Site on a hybrid basis.This is a 12-month contract role inside IR35 at £32 to £35ph (umbrella) and will require SC clearance.***Only apply if you are a British Citizen and passport holder and not have worked outside the UK during the past 5 years.***Candidates can start with BPSS security clearance whilst higher level clearance is being undertaken.ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintain a safe working environment for all personnel and visitorsPromote a positive, professional view of the companyAdhere to the company's standards and expectationsCommunicate effectively with clients and all levels of personnelFollow safe working practices for on plant visitsGather information from technical drawings, client documentation and site visits to enable technical documentation productionProduce technical documentation to programme and cost to the current defined process (MP-3-3-006 Technical Documentation Production)ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:ONC or above in an engineering subject and/or more than five years' experience in an engineering disciplineIOSH Working SafelyDemonstrate experience in engineering principles, practices, theories and technologies related to mechanical, electrical or instrumentation disciplinesDemonstrate experience in technical documentation productionIT skills - Microsoft Word as a minimum.DESIRABLE:Multi-disciplined preferredGood communication skillsUnderstand the barriers to producing a fit for purpose document and strategies to overcome these barriersAbility to work independently or as part of a team.
