Technical Business Development ManagerLocation: UK wide hybrid with 2 days per week in London plus travelSalary: Up to £80K base with double OTE and excellent benefits packageAbout the OpportunityOur client is a fast-growing UK-based energy services business delivering LED lighting, solar PV, EV charging and wider net zero solutions across public sector, education and commercial markets.With a strong market position and a compelling funded / Energy-as-a-Service model, they are now looking to appoint a technically credible, commercially driven Business Development Manager to build early-stage pipeline, engage customers consultatively, and convert opportunities into high-value, multi-solution projects.This role suits a proactive, hunter-style BDM with strong technical understanding and a solution-led sales approach. You will join a lean, growth-focused environment with real scope to make an impact and, for the right person, potential Director-level progression.Key RequirementsWe are looking for a business development professional with proven success in technical or solution-led sales within energy, renewables, building services or a closely related sector.You will ideally bring:Proven experience selling technical solutions across energy, renewables, infrastructure, building services or similar marketsStrong knowledge of at least one of the following: solar PV, EV charging, lighting / energy efficiency, or wider decarbonisation solutionsA strong track record of opening doors, generating pipeline and winning new businessExperience engaging customers early in the buying cycle, before projects are fully definedA consultative, commercially astute sales style with the ability to shape multi-solution opportunitiesStrong communication and presentation skills, with credibility at senior stakeholder levelExperience working with or alongside bid / tender processesThe ability to manage multiple live opportunities in a structured, organised wayComfort operating in a lean, growth-focused, scale-up environmentDesirable:Experience selling into or working with public sector frameworksExposure to funded / financed solution modelsUnderstanding of infrastructure, grid or planning considerationsAn existing network across energy, construction, property or related marketsPrevious leadership or mentoring experienceRole & ResponsibilitiesAs Technical Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving growth across both public and private sector markets.Your responsibilities will include:Developing and managing new business opportunities across public and private sector clientsBuilding pipeline earlier in the sales cycle by engaging customers around energy cost, infrastructure and decarbonisation challengesDelivering solution-led sales across multiple technologies, including LED, solar, EV charging, O&M and related energy solutionsConverting single-service discussions into broader multi-technology project opportunitiesBuilding and managing key account relationships, identifying cross-sell and expansion opportunitiesSupporting bid and tender activity where requiredWorking closely with internal technical, design and delivery teams to shape commercially strong, feasible proposalsPresenting proposals and solutions to senior stakeholders and decision-makersMaintaining accurate CRM pipeline management and opportunity trackingMonitoring market trends, regulation and competitor activity to strengthen the commercial approachRepresenting the business at relevant industry events, meetings and networking opportunitiesWhy Join?This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a proven model, good market traction and strong growth ambitions.JBRP1_UKTJ
