About the Role
RIEGL UK is growing its footprint across the UK and Ireland and is now seeking a Technical Business Development Manager (TBDM) to lead strategic sales development across the Midlands and Southern UK. This is a senior-level role focused on expanding the market presence and sales pipeline for RIEGL’s world-renowned laser scanning and LiDAR products, with a focus on 75% Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) and 25% Kinematic systems (such as UAV/drone based scanning and Mobile
Mapping)

a senior-level role, but who bring strong industry insight and technical credibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic business development plans to grow RIEGL’s presence across
target sectors such as: AEC, Geospatial, Defence, Public Safety, Environmental, and
CGI/Visualisation, Critical Infrastructure.
• Leverage your own industry experience and network to expand RIEGL brand awareness and
market penetration across the UK and Ireland
• Generate and manage a high-quality sales pipeline, working towards both short-term wins
and long-term relationships
• Maintain strong technical understanding of RIEGL products and services to confidently
engage with stakeholders and interpret application-specific needs

• Collaborate with internal teams including technical support, sales engineers, and the
northern sales function
• Provide strategic input to sales leadership and contribute to cross-functional initiatives
• Attend client meetings, industry events, and trade shows as required.
• Contribute to marketing initiatives including trade show representation and customer case
studies

Candidate Requirements
• Proven business development or sales experience within a technical or geospatial-related industry (e.g. AEC, surveying, LiDAR, mapping, defence, or related sectors)
• Strong understanding of laser scanning or related technologies.
• Confident with technical product literature and able to translate technical features into customer value.
• Ability to work independently, remotely, and travel regularly for customer engagement
• Valid UK driving licence (required).
• Ideally located in the Midlands or Southern England region, with monthly travel to RIEGL UK’s York office.
• Occasional international travel maybe required for training and event attendance.
• Some manual handling and frequent customer site attendance will be involved in this role. This may involve demanding terrain, and site inductions.
• Right to work in the UK is a requirement

Desirable
• Experience with both TLS and Kinematic LiDAR systems
• Strong network in one or more of RIEGL’s target industries
• Drone pilot / GVC qualification
