About the RoleOur Fire Safety Engineering team at Sweco is committed to delivering strategic fire safety advice and innovative solutions that meet building regulations and client needs. We are looking for a Technical Director to join our Fire Engineering team in London, working flexibly in a hybrid office/home model (minimum 3 days onsite).ResponsibilitiesDevelop Fire Safety Strategies during Design and Construction stages.Prepare technical engineering analysis using relevant guidance and methods (prescriptive and performance based).Carry out site visits when required.Attend internal and external meetings.Prepare fee proposals.Support the team in developing technical knowledge.Oversee and manage projects from inception to completion.Liaise with clients on a daily basis.Review and authorise work done by others.Qualifications & ExperienceExtensive experience in fire safety engineering and a recognized qualification.Excellent understanding of engineered fire safety solutions.Strong problem‑solving, contingency planning and innovative solution skills.Excellent written and verbal communication, adaptable to diverse audiences.Proven consultancy, communication and relationship‑management abilities.Experience delivering across a multi‑site organisation.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fire Engineering.Full IFE membership and working towards or having achieved chartership status via IFE.What We OfferFlexible, hybrid working (Flexworks policy).Competitive pension contribution.Life Assurance.Discretionary Annual Bonus Scheme.Payment of two relevant professional subscriptions.28 days holiday plus bank holidays, birthday off and option to buy up to 5 additional days per year.Support through professional accreditation with bonuses and salary review on achievement.Cycle2Work Scheme.Employee Assistant Programme (wellbeing, mental health, financial and work advice).Employee discounts via Sweco Benefit Select (Faircare).Salary Sacrifice Electric Vehicle Scheme.We plant a tree for all new starters!Equality, Diversity & InclusionWe proudly support equality and diversity for all employees.
