Technical Manager - Manufacturing

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with one of our reputable clients where a great opportunity has come up to lead the technical function for a long-established manufacturing business that produces specialist metal-based products for high-performance industries.
This is a key leadership role where you’ll drive product quality, process optimisation and technical development across the site. You’ll work closely with Production, Quality and Commercial teams, providing technical expertise and leading a small technical team to deliver improvements, solve complex issues and support ongoing growth.
The Technical Manger role includes:
• Leading and developing the technical team
• Driving process optimisation and product improvement projects
• Owning key technical metrics and using data to guide decision making
• Supporting problem solving, root cause analysis and customer investigations
• Overseeing raw material qualification and technical change control
• Working closely with the lab, QA and Production to maintain high standards
• Supporting commercial teams with technical information when needed
• Managing technical input into external audits and customer requirements
• Delivering clear technical reports to internal stakeholders
We’re looking for a Technical Manager with:
• A degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemistry or similar
• Experience in a technical leadership role within manufacturing
• Knowledge of metals, alloys or complex process plant
• A track record of improving processes and solving technical issues
• Experience with quality tools such as RCA, 8D, 5 Why or FMEA
• Confident communication skills and the ability to work across departments
• A logical, analytical mindset with high attention to detail
This role would suit someone who enjoys leading technical teams, improving performance and being at the centre of technical decision making in a fast-moving production environment.
