Senior Technical Engagement Manager – Data Management
Diversified Industries
Salary: £100,000 – £135,000 + 15% bonus
Location: London, United Kingdom (Flexible hybrid working)
Travel: Travel required to client offices across the UK

Role Overview

This role is highly client-facing and combines delivery leadership, technical credibility, and commercial acumen. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders while enabling strong communication between clients, project teams, and internal support functions.

Key Responsibilities
Client & Account Leadership
Actively seek opportunities for expansion and growth within existing client accounts Own and manage account plans for assigned accounts Build strong, trusted-advisor relationships with senior-level client stakeholders Engage with executive leadership to identify opportunities across data management, analytics, and digital services Conduct regular business reviews, clearly articulating and measuring business value delivered
Engagement & Delivery Management
Oversee the successful delivery of client engagements in line with business requirements, project objectives, contractual deliverables, and internal methodologies Manage client communication, budget tracking, delivery standards, and overall engagement health Identify, track, and report engagement metrics to measure success Conduct engagement analysis to identify risks, issues, and opportunities, along with their potential impacts Develop and implement action plans to address underperforming projects Manage project change requests, change orders, and corrective actions
Technical & Team Leadership
Identify, onboard, assemble, and manage delivery teams to meet customer expectations Lead and coordinate teams of 5–20 resources, leveraging technical and competency leads as required Monitor team performance and ensure high-quality delivery of major milestones and outcomes
Commercial & Internal Collaboration
Partner with Account Managers on proposals and statements of work Work closely with Finance to manage invoicing, forecasts, and monthly financials Provide clear and consistent status reporting to stakeholders, including risks, issues, and mitigation plans Support recruitment activities by conducting technical and non-technical interviews and providing structured feedback
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, IT, or equivalent professional experience Minimum of 10 years’ domain experience within Diversified Industries 10+ years’ experience delivering BI, DW, and enterprise data management solutions 3+ years’ experience in technical architecture and/or project management Strong hands-on experience with: Business Intelligence and Data Integration SQL database implementations Delivery of complex, enterprise-scale systems Proven experience leading project and development teams Highly proficient with MS Project and standard MS Office applications
Desirable Skills & Attributes
Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Governance Exposure to sales and pre-sales environments Strong understanding of delivery methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, and Kanban Deep experience creating and managing project plans, including estimation, resourcing, risk management, and dependency tracking Strong knowledge of Software Development Lifecycles and methodologies Ability to lead and influence delivery teams, both directly and indirectly Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage complex dependencies Proven ability to operate as a trusted advisor beyond core delivery management Confident presenter to senior stakeholders and large groups (25+) Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with abstract and complex information Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong understanding of enterprise data management technologies, including the strengths and limitations of leading tools and platforms
