Job Description
Area Sales Manager – Aerospace & Defence Electronics (Technical Sales) We are recruiting an Area Sales Manager / Technical Sales Manager on behalf of a long-established European manufacturer of high-reliability engineered components and subsystems supplied into Aerospace & Defence applications.\n\nThis is a high-autonomy, technical sales role focused on developing business with major aerospace & defence OEMs and systems integrators. The position combines account development and new business, operating early in the design-in lifecycle to influence engineering decisions that lead to long-term supply.\n\nIf you enjoy selling complex engineered solutions rather than catalogue products, and you thrive on building long-term technical relationships, this is an exceptional opportunity.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * \n\n Develop and grow sales with Aerospace & Defence customers across the UK (primary) and Northern Europe (secondary)\n\n * \n\n Build strong relationships with engineering, programme and procurement teams\n\n * \n\n Identify and convert new design-in opportunities within target accounts\n\n * \n\n Manage and develop existing customers to secure long-term revenue\n\n * \n\n Work closely with internal technical experts to support customer requirements\n\n * \n\n Maintain accurate reporting, visit plans and sales pipeline forecasts\n\nCandidate Profile\n\nWe are looking for a candidate who is both technical and commercial, with the credibility to engage engineering stakeholders and the drive to win new business.\n\nIdeal experience includes:\n\n * \n\n Technical sales into Aerospace / Defence / Military / Space / Electronics / RF / Sensors / Opto-electronic / Rugged technology / Embedded systems\n\n * \n\n Selling complex engineered products rather than commodity items\n\n * \n\n Experience with long sales cycles and high-value design-in projects\n\n * \n\n Engineering qualification beneficial (Electronics / Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronics), but strong technical sales experience also considered\n\nPersonal traits:\n\n * \n\n Self-motivated with a business-builder attitude\n\n * \n\n Comfortable working independently without micromanagement\n\n * \n\n Organised and proactive in planning customer visits and pipeline activity\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * \n\n £70,000 – £80,000 basic (higher considered for an exceptional profile)\n\n * \n\n Excellent bonus with realistic on-target earnings\n\n * \n\n Company car\n\n * \n\n Full travel expenses\n\n * \n\n Strong technical support from European HQ\n\n * \n\n Structured onboarding and product training\n\nThis role offers the freedom to operate as a trusted specialist, not a price-driven salesperson — ideal for someone who wants ownership and the ability to truly influence their market.\n\nHow to Apply\n\nIf you are a commercially minded engineer or technical sales professional with experience selling into Aerospace & Defence or closely related engineered sectors, we’d love to hear from you.\n\n Apply now with your CV, or contact JP at Aarca Technical Sales Recruitment for a confidential discussion
