Futures is seeking to appoint an Technical Sales Manager on behalf of a well-established concrete manufacturing business. This is a field-based role, with the successful candidate spending a significant proportion of their time meeting customers, influencing specifications and supporting live projects on site. Office time will be primarily focused on planning, reporting and follow-up activity.
This position requires an individual who can operate autonomously while working closely with internal teams across sales, technical and operations. The Technical Sales Manager will be responsible for driving performance, developing the market and supporting project delivery across a defined product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Take full ownership of sales performance and market growth for a dedicated retaining wall product range within the UK
Actively support and cross-sell wider precast concrete solutions where appropriate
Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including consulting engineers, architects, main contractors, developers and public-sector bodies
Identify, qualify and manage project opportunities using structured lead-tracking tools and market intelligence platforms
Ensure all incoming enquiries are progressed thoroughly, from initial engagement through to commercial close
Maintain a consistent programme of outbound, opportunity-driven customer activity
Act as a technical and commercial point of contact, attending site when required to resolve issues
Provide regular market feedback to inform product development, enhancements and future offerings
Skills and Attributes
Proven experience selling retaining wall systems within specification-led environments
Strong understanding of procurement and approval processes associated with public-sector and infrastructure projects
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and engage confidently in technical discussions
Highly organised, with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple live projects
Comfortable working independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment
