We’re supporting a high-growth deep tech business in Cambridge operating in a genuinely niche space across advanced software and semiconductor innovation. Backed by significant funding and working at the forefront of complex scientific research, they are scaling their technical delivery capability.
About the Role
They are seeking a Technical Software Project Manager with experience in deep tech, advanced software or semiconductor environments. This role sits at the intersection of research and engineering and will involve working closely with scientists and highly technical software teams.
Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end delivery of complex technical software projects
Work directly with scientists and senior engineers to define scope, milestones and technical dependencies
Build structured delivery plans across deep tech software products
Manage risks, assumptions and research-driven uncertainty clearly and proactively
Track progress and report effectively at project and portfolio level
Remove blockers and support scaling operational processes
Improve PMO practices within a technical R&D environment
Operate within agile frameworks using tools such as Jira and Confluence
Qualifications
Strong background as a Technical Software Project Manager
Experience within niche Deep Tech, advanced Software or Semiconductor environments
Academic or professional background in Science, Computer Science or Engineering
Experience working directly with Scientists or Research teams
Proven experience delivering software projects involving Python and/or C++
Exposure to DevOps practices, Git, CI pipelines and testing frameworks
Experience working within research-driven environments with evolving timelines
Strong Project Management fundamentals (PMP, PRINCE2, APM or equivalent )
Excellent stakeholder communication and engagement skills
