MC Technical Recruitment is currently working with a specialist engineering business to recruit a Technical Support Engineer. This role will act as the key technical interface between the company and its customers, providing high-level support on products and systems, troubleshooting issues, and advising on system improvements and upgrades.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong electricalbackground who enjoys problem-solving, customer interaction, and becoming a true product expert.
As the Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Providing technical support to customers via phone and email, resolving product and system-related queries
Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and controls-based issues
Acting as a product specialist, developing in-depth knowledge of systems and applications
Advising customers on system optimisation, upgrades, and new solutions where required
Supporting internal teams with technical expertise and application guidance
Producing clear technical documentation and support materials
Occasionally conducting site visits when necessary
Attending bespoke product training in Europe (typically once a year)
This role requires someone who can confidently communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and practical manner.
Other duties as required
To be considered for this role you should have:
A strong background in Electrical Engineering, Controls, Automation or a related discipline
HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship or Degree qualified (or equivalent experience)
Experience in a technical support, field service, commissioning or controls-based role
Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and control system documentation
Practical fault-finding and troubleshooting experience
Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
Willingness to travel to Europe for product training (approximately once per year
