Telephone Collections Agent / Debt Collector / Recovery Officer who has some previous experience in the credit industry with a polite and professional telephone manner and excellent negotiation skills, is required for a well-established commercial debt recovery consultancy, who work alongside numerous FTSE 100 companies and multinational corporations.
SALARY: £26,000 - £30,000 per annum (basic salary) / £36,000 OTE (includes basic) + Benefits
LOCATION: Hybrid with 3 Days Working at Home and 2 Days from the Office in Epsom, Surrey (KT17) – Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the office.
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 40 Hours per Week, 08:30 – 17:30, Monday to Friday

Due to ongoing expansion, we have a fantastic new job opportunity for an exceptional and experienced Telephone Collections Agent / Debt Collector / Recovery Officer who has some previous experience in the credit industry with a polite and professional telephone manner and excellent negotiation skills.
Working as a Telephone Collections Agent / Debt Collector / Recovery Officer you will help to recover the company’s clients’ UK and International delinquent commercial debts.
As a Telephone Collections Agent / Debt Collector / Recovery Officer you will contact debtors and claim outstanding debts towards your client’s creditors. You will be responsible for recovering the money owed in as little time as possible.
This position can be challenging. You will have to be polite and sensitive towards people while also remaining committed to your purpose and persistent. Excellent communication skills and a sense of urgency are extremely useful to succeed in this task.

DUTIES
Your duties as a Telephone Collections Agent / Debt Collector / Recovery Officer include:
• Keep track of assigned accounts to identify outstanding debts – you will be expected to maintain a ledger of approx. 500 live debts
• Plan course of action to recover outstanding payments by use of a daily planner
• Locate and contact debtors to inquire of their payment status, you should be skilled and have experience in Track and Trace capabilities
• Negotiate payoff deadlines or payment plans
• Handle questions or complaints, investigate and resolve discrepancies with stakeholders
• Create trust relationships with debtors when possible to avoid future issues
• Update account status and ledger regularly
• Alert superiors of debtors unwilling or unable to pay when necessary
• Comply with requirements when legal action is unavoidable
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Proven experience in the credit industry
• Experience in working with targets and tight deadlines
• Knowledge of relevant legal requirements
• Above average working knowledge of MS Office functions
• Excellent communication and people skills, expectation to make a minimum of 30 debtor contact telephone calls per working day
• Apt in negotiating and persuading
• Ability to be polite and compassionate without lacking confidence
• Having a second language would be ideal but not essential
