Rate: £26.04 per hour (Limited/Umbrella)
Location: East London
Working Pattern: 2 days in the office / 3 days remote
Contract: Temporary

Overview We are seeking an experienced Temporary Accommodation Reduction Officer to join the Housing team. This role focuses on reducing the number of households in temporary accommodation through proactive casework, effective move-on solutions, and strong partnership working.

Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of households in temporary accommodation, identifying suitable pathways into stable housing.
Work proactively with residents to support move-on and prevent long-term TA placements.
Liaise with private landlords, housing associations, and internal teams to secure accommodation options.
Provide housing advice to minimise homelessness and reduce TA demand.
Maintain accurate case records and produce reports as required.
Support the council’s overall temporary accommodation reduction strategy.Requirements
Experience working in homelessness, housing options, or temporary accommodation roles.
Strong understanding of housing legislation, including the Homelessness Reduction Act.
Excellent communication and case management skills.
Ability to work independently and to service targets.
Knowledge of working with vulnerable households and complex needs.
