We’re recruiting a Band 7 Team Leader Therapeutic Radiographer to join the Oxford Cancer Centre in Oxford. This is an ASAP start opportunity, available on a permanent or long-term basis , for a confident clinician ready to take the lead in treatment delivery while keeping patient experience at the heart of everything they do.

The Role
As Team Leader, you’ll play a key part in the operational and clinical leadership of treatment delivery and processes, ensuring a high-quality, patient-focused radiotherapy service. You’ll:
Lead and manage a team of Radiographers (3–4 staff) and coordinate day-to-day operations for a designated treatment machine/area
Manage a caseload of 40–50 patients (including children) ensuring accurate, consistent planning and treatment
Maintain excellent documentation and patient records
Provide expert advice on pre-treatment/treatment procedures and treatment-related side effects
Ensure IR(ME)R 2017 compliance and adherence to radiation & Quality Assurance practices
Support training and development of radiographers, assistants, and students
Contribute to policy development , service improvement, audit, research, and new technique implementation
Work rotationally across pre-treatment and treatment , including participation in the on-call rota
Working Pattern
37.5 hours per week
Core hours: 08:00–18:30 (Mon–Fri) and 08:30–13:00 (Sat–Sun)
Participation required in weekends, bank holidays (department closes only on Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day ) and occasional extended working up to 20:00 during linac downtime periods
Essential Requirements
BSc Radiotherapy
HCPC registration
Previous NHS radiotherapy experience
Relevant Band 6 Therapeutic Radiographer experience (or equivalent), ready to step into Band 7 leadership
Team management/supervision experience
Strong knowledge of advanced/complex treatment techniques , anatomy, dosimetry principles, and IR(ME)R 2017
Excellent communication skills and confidence supporting patients through sensitive conversations
Desirable
Experience with Varian/ARIA
Planning systems: Eclipse and/or Somavision
Involvement in research , clinical trials, or implementing change/new equipment
Leadership course attendance and strong image interpretation skills
