Town Planner - Planning Consultancy (UK)

I'm currently working with a well-established and highly respected planning consultancy that is looking to appoint a Town Planner to strengthen its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a planner who wants exposure to high-quality work, genuine career progression, and a supportive professional environment.
The Opportunity
My client advises on a diverse range of projects across the residential, commercial and mixed-use sectors. You'll be involved from early strategy through to determination and appeal, working closely with experienced planners and directors who are actively engaged in projects rather than operating at arm's length.
This role would suit someone who enjoys responsibility, values professional development, and wants to be part of a collaborative consultancy rather than a corporate machine.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing and managing planning applications and supporting documents
Providing planning strategy and advice to clients
Liaising with local planning authorities, consultants and stakeholders
Undertaking site appraisals and planning research
Supporting appeals and, depending on experience, leading smaller projects
About You
Degree qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline
Working towards or already MRTPI (or equivalent experience)
Experience within consultancy or local authority planning
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Commercial awareness and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
