Join us as a Traffic Signal Engineer\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n * Deliver to a high standard a wide range of traffic engineering projects across the UK in accordance with current /local standards, guidance and best practice\n\n * Deliver traffic engineering projects in accordance with ergonomic, economic and sustainable principles\n\n * Assessment and mitigation of risks associated with traffic engineering projects\n\n * Travel to site visits, validations, and customer meetings with overnight stays where appropriate\n\n * Preparation of technical reports and specifications\n\n * Technical checking/approval of traffic engineering schemes before delivery to customers\n\n * Preparation of consultancy/design quotations\n\n * Project management and financial tracking\n\nQualifications & Experience:\n\nThe key competencies and capabilities for this role are:\n\n * High level of communication skills, both verbal and written and working collaboratively\n\n * Ability to solve complex traffic engineering problems and managing customer’s expectations\n\n * Ability to achieve objectives with strict deadlines and manage your own and others workload\n\nRequired experience:\n\nTo have a technical, in-depth understanding and proven track record of the following traffic engineering competencies:\n\n * Traffic signal design fundamentals and UK standards/specifications\n\n * Traffic engineering software including AutoCAD, with KeySignals, and modelling software such as LinSig or Transyt\n\n * In-depth knowledge of traffic signal products from across the industry\n\n * In-depth knowledge and proven track record using systems such as UTC or UTMC\n\n * In-depth knowledge and proven track record of adaptive control strategies such as SCOOT or MOVA, including experience with setup and on-site validation\n\n * Experience undertaking Factory and Site Acceptance Testing\n\nEducational Requirements\n\n * HNC/HND/Degree level in engineering in a related subject is preferred or have relevant experience\n\nWe offer:\n\n * Competitive base salary with an annual bonus.\n\n * Continuous training and learning opportunities to support career development.\n\n * 26 days of holiday, increasing up to 29 with length of service.\n\n * 37.5-hour working week plus paid overtime and unsociable hours uplift.\n\n * Excellent pension, with matching contributions up to 10% of pensionable salary.\n\n * Flexible benefits package to suit your personal needs.\n\n * Investment in personal development and support for membership of professional institutions.\n\nHow do I apply?\n\nWe can only accept online applications.
