Office-based in Reading and full-time: Monday-Friday 8.00 am – 4.00 pm. Occasional overtime.
Three-month probation, training with the Finance Director. Once permanent, you will be eligible for the company pension scheme.
Pay review upon successful completion of probation, and annual pay and performance review thereafter.
Annual holiday entitlement: 25 days p.a., plus Bank Holidays.
Any other benefits will be offered after completion of one year of service.
There will be opportunities for promotion to the right person.
Job description
Assisting the Finance Director with accounting work, using the Odoo ERP software package, including preparation for:
* Maintaining outstanding credit from customers at agreed acceptable levels.
* Working with customers to ensure that debt queries are resolved in a timely manner.
* Maintaining clean client records.
* Conducting monthly reconciliation of Accounts Receivable Ledger accounts.
* Overseeing/completing the forwarding of monthly statements to customers to keep them updated on the debt status of their accounts.
* Setting up new customer credit accounts in line with agreed guidelines.
* Assist with the preparation and processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports.
* Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
* Reconcile bank statements and financial transactions.
* Maintain accurate financial records and assist with data entry.
* Work closely with accountants to produce financial reports and ensure compliance with regulations.
Office administration, including:
* Answering the phone, transferring calls, passing on messages, etc.
* Office equipment: arranging service calls, insurance, etc.
* Monitoring and ordering office supplies.
* Keeping company contact information up to date.

Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance, or part-qualified AAT.
* Numerate and IT literate.
* Excellent spoken and written English and communication skills.
* Ability to work under tight deadlines.
* Good timekeeping and attendance.
* Self-motivated and keen to learn more.
* Practical team player, willing to assist in other areas when required.
