Sheffield – Trainee CAD Technician
Here at Contek we are working with a client who specialise in the manufacturing of parts for the food and packagng industry.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing engineering business where you’ll gain hands-on experience and develop into a skilled CAD professional.
The Role
As a Trainee CAD Technician, you will support the design and development of precision machine knives by producing accurate technical drawings.
You will be trained to work from physical samples and existing drawings (DXF files), translating these into detailed CAD designs using AutoCAD.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce 2D technical drawings using AutoCAD
* Create accurate CAD designs from:
* Physical samples
* Existing DXF drawings
* Ensure drawings meet required specifications and tolerances
* Work closely with production and engineering teams
* Maintain drawing records and update design databases
* Support continuous improvement within the design process
What We’re Looking For
* Interest in engineering, manufacturing or design
* Basic understanding of CAD (AutoCAD but not essential)
* Strong attention to detail
* Good problem-solving skills
* Ability to learn quickly and follow technical instructions
Pay and Hours
Monday to Friday | 7:00am – 4:00pm
£28,000 - £32,000 | depending on experience
