Are you currently completing a PGCE or a Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education / Teaching and looking to gain additional, paid classroom experience alongside your training?

We work in partnership with a wide network of supportive primary schools across Sunderland, South Tyneside, and Gateshead, offering trainee teachers the opportunity to further develop their classroom practice, confidence, and professional skills in real school environments.

This role is specifically designed to support trainee primary teachers who want to broaden their experience across different settings while continuing their studies.

About the Role:

As a Trainee Primary Teacher, you will work closely with experienced class teachers and support staff to enhance pupils’ learning and wellbeing across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.

Your responsibilities may include:

Supporting the planning and delivery of lessons under teacher guidance

Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small intervention groups

Assisting with classroom organisation, resources, and learning activities

Supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, and additional learning needs

Helping to promote positive behaviour, engagement, and inclusion

Gaining exposure to different teaching styles, year groups, and school environments

Must Have:

Currently completing a PGCE or a Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education / Teaching

Referenceable employment history covering the last 2 years
(This can include part-time work, voluntary roles, university placements, or relevant experience)

A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

A genuine passion for primary education and child development

Willingness to complete all required compliance and safeguarding checks
