Insight Global are seeking a highly experienced Translational Lead with deep expertise in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases to support an early‑stage human observational study for a leading global pharmaceutical organisation.
This position requires 2 days onsite per week (or 8 days per month) in Stevenage, UK for a 12‑month contract and is Inside IR35.
The Translational Lead will shape and drive the translational science and biomarker strategy for an exploratory Phase 0 observational study aimed at understanding underlying immune‑driven disease mechanisms. This role sits at the intersection of research, clinical development, and emerging R&D technologies, offering the opportunity to influence scientific strategy across multiple markets and functions.
You will lead the definition of biomarker plans—including target engagement, mechanistic biomarkers, and exploratory signals—and map the governance pathways required to deploy these into early‑stage clinical studies. A key part of this role involves interpreting clinical biomarker data, forming strategic recommendations, and ensuring cross‑functional alignment with clinical, imaging, safety technologies, and R&D Tech teams.
Must‑Have Requirements Include:
- PhD in an inflammatory or autoimmune‑focused discipline, with strong grounding in translational science.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and deploy biomarker strategies into clinical studies.
- Strong scientific reputation supported by peer‑reviewed publications in the inflammation field.
- Proven ability to operate within a highly complex, cross‑functional matrix environment.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, dynamic setting with shifting priorities.
- Deep disease‑area expertise in inflammation, such as:
- Lupus
- Systemic autoimmune diseases
- Psoriasis
- Inflammatory bowel disease
- Experience must include time within clinical or pharmaceutical industry settings.
Plusses Include:
- Prior involvement in Phase 0 or early human observational studies.
- Familiarity with emerging biomarker platforms or governance pathways for biomarker deployment.
- Exposure to AI‑driven literature or data‑mining tools.
- Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross‑functional scientific discussions.
