What You'll Be Doing Day To Day
As Transport Operations Manager , you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe, legally compliant, and cost-effective transport operation within our Hub environment. Reporting to the Transport General Manager, you'll support shift planning, performance, compliance, and service delivery while continuously improving systems and processes to meet evolving business needs.
You'll lead and develop Shift Managers, champion best-in-class fuel efficiency through telemetry systems, and use data to influence performance and drive measurable results. From peak planning and cost control to compliance audits and KPI improvement plans, you'll be instrumental in shaping a high-performance, people-focused culture that delivers first-class service to both internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
Support the Transport General Manager in delivering 24-hour operational performance, compliance, and service excellence
Lead and develop Shift Managers to optimise fleet performance and fuel efficiency
Drive cost leadership through detailed operational reporting and financial control
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, legal, and quality standards through audits and risk assessments
Analyse KPI performance, identify root causes, and implement corrective action plans
Develop and execute peak plans aligned to forecasted volumes and automation changes

CPC National qualification (Named CPC holder on Operator's Licence)
Proven experience in transport operations management
Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to influence and drive performance
Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
Solid understanding of transport systems (e.g., Isotrak, TMS, Tachomaster)
Full UK driving licence with strong written, verbal, and PC skills
