Job Description Transport Planner (Airfreight Logistics) \n
Heathrow | 4 on / 4 off (06:00-18:00)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

An established freight and logistics provider is seeking a Transport Planner to coordinate the daily operations of a busy Heathrow-based fleet. This role is focused on ensuring time-critical collections and deliveries are executed efficiently, while maintaining strong communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities of a Transport Planner:

Plan and oversee daily vehicle routes to meet customer deadlines
\n
\n
\n
Monitor driver progress and provide real-time support throughout the day
\n
\n
\n
Liaise with import/export teams and keep customers updated on delivery status
\n
\n
\n
Manage fleet availability, including maintenance and servicing schedules
\n
\n
\n
Utilise third-party hauliers to support capacity when required
\n
\n
\n
Maintain accurate planning boards and system updates
\n
\n
\n
Ensure compliance with UK transport regulations (driver hours, tachograph)
\n
\n
\n
Respond to operational issues and implement contingency plans
\n
\n
\n
Requirements of a Transport Planner:
\n
\n
\n
2-3+ years' experience in UK transport or freight planning
\n
\n
\n
Strong knowledge of UK geography and routing
\n
\n
\n
Understanding of transport compliance and driver regulations
\n
\n
\n
Experience with Cargowise
\n
\n
\n
CPC qualification advantageous but not essential
\n
\n
