Transport PlannerLocation: Outskirts of CrawleySalary: £30K - £33K DOEMonday to Friday (no weekends!)Lloyd Recruitment Services is excited to be working with a well-established distribution business located on the outskirts of Crawley, who are looking to hire a Transport Planner to join their operations team. This is a crucial role in the company's logistics function, responsible for planning and coordinating daily deliveries to ensure customer orders are completed safely, legally, and on time.As the Transport Planner, you will play a key part in coordinating daily driver and logistics operations, ensuring smooth workflows, compliance with transport legislation, and maximising fleet efficiency. You'll also be the main point of contact for internal teams and customers, and your attention to detail and problem-solving skills will be vital in resolving delivery issues as they arise.Transport Planner Key Responsibilities:Plan and schedule daily delivery routes ensuring full compliance with drivers' hours, the Working Time Directive, vehicle weight limits, and site access requirementsRegularly communicate with customers to confirm delivery dates, access, and unloading arrangementsCollaborate with internal teams, including sales, yard, and drivers, to ensure smooth delivery execution.Prepare driver manifests and delivery documentationProvide clear route plans to driversProvide an excellent standard of customer service, responding to queries and resolving operational issuesReport accurate transport data, including KPIs related to service, efficiency, and complianceRespond effectively to changes such as urgent delivery requests or operational challengesTransport Planner Essential Experience & Skills:Previous experience in a transport or logistics planning roleExcellent customer service skills and telephone mannerHigh level of attention to detailGood working knowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsWorking awareness of transport legislation, including drivers' hours, Working Time Directive, and vehicle weights (desirable)Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environmentFull UK driving licence (essential) and willingness to drive a 3.5-tonne vehicle or above (advantageous)Experience in using ERP and scheduling systems is beneficialCalm, organised, and professional under pressureWhat's on Offer:Salary £30K - £33K DOEMonday to Friday (no weekends or bank holidays!)A supportive, team-oriented working environmentOngoing development opportunitiesExtra Information:Refer a friend and earn up to £500 (see website for details).Due to high application volumes, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
