Transport Planner

An understanding of the UK planning process and how your work fits into that
Working knowledge of relevant Highways & Transport related policies and standards (e.g. London Plan, Manual for Streets etc.)
Evidence of having worked in a similar position within a local authority context.
Excellent knowledge of street design, with particular focus on the delivery of high-quality streets through the planning process.
Experience in development planning, including strategic scales of development.
Knowledge of, and experience of promoting sustainable transport option, such as public transport, cycling and walking.
1.Job Purpose:
You will play a key part in providing professional guidance and advice on the transport implications and opportunities of development proposals and planning strategies to help the Council make sure these make the maximum contribution to deliver sustainable, healthy and inclusive transport systems in Barnet, helping deliver on the Council’s commitment to a net zero borough by 2042 and on the objectives set out in the Barnet Long-Term Transport Strategy.
