Our client is a transport planning and highway engineering consultancy who work with some of the UK’s most successful development companies, delivering clear and commercially viable transport planning and highway engineering advice that is focused on clients’ needs working on a vast range of projects throughout the country with some of the most successful development companies.

They are currently looking for Transport Planners, PREFERABLY with experience in the industry OR RELEVANT PLACEMENT EXPERIENCE, to join the expanding teams near Bournemouth and in Oxford

This is your opportunity to join our engineering and transportation consultancy and be involved in a diverse range of interesting and challenging projects from small residential schemes to large mixed-use developments.

The duties will include the following:

* Obtaining, analysing and interpreting traffic data.

* Reviewing development sites with regard to their accessibility by a

range of transport modes.

* Assisting the Directors and Associates in the preparation of Transport Assessments/Statements and Travel Plans.

* Calculate traffic using the TRICS database.

* Undertaking junction capacity assessments using industry standard software such as Junctions 9 & LinSig.

* Undertaking site visits.

* Liaising with clients and other disciplines within the Project team.

Key skills and experience:

* A formal education in either Geography,Civil Engineering, Transport Planning or Mathematics

* Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.

* Excellent communication skills, to liaise with colleagues and clients.

* Ability to work within a team and also able to work under own initiative.

* Excellent organisational skills and able to prioritise workload.

* Accuracy and good attention to detail
