Container Transport Operator (CDL Personnel)

Location: Stowmarket, Suffolk
Salary: £35,000+ (Dependent on Experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:30 (Some out-of-hours work required)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

CDL Personnel are recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing and well-established logistics provider, for an experienced Container Transport Operator to join their busy transport team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and organised individual looking to take the next step in a professional and fast-paced container transport environment.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and manage UK-wide import container deliveries and export collections

Create and manage bookings using TOPS transport software

Liaise effectively with drivers, subcontractors, and customers

Handle email and telephone enquiries in a professional and timely manner

Maintain accurate operational records and ensure data is kept up to date

Support general transport operations and account management as required

Key Requirements

Minimum 3 years’ experience in container transport operations

Strong knowledge of UK geography

Confident user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

Experience with TOPS software (preferred)

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Highly organised, able to prioritise workload and perform under pressure
