Job Title: Transport Planner
Location: Rainham, Essex
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 6:00pm
Pay: Monthly

The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established and growing portable toilet (portaloo) rental company based in Rainham, Essex, is currently seeking an organised and proactive Transport Planner to join their busy operations team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced logistics environment where no two days are the same.

The Role
As a Transport Planner, you will play a key role in coordinating the day-to-day movement of vehicles and drivers, ensuring timely delivery, collection, and servicing of units across customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and scheduling daily routes for deliveries, collections, and servicing
Optimising routes to maximise efficiency and reduce operational costs
Acting as the main point of contact for drivers, providing updates and resolving issues
Liaising with customers regarding bookings, schedules, and service updates
Managing vehicle availability, maintenance schedules, and compliance
Responding to last-minute changes and urgent requests
Keeping accurate records of transport operations and completed jobs

Requirements

Previous experience in transport planning, logistics, or a similar role
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills
Good geographical knowledge of Essex and surrounding areas
IT literate, with experience using planning systems and Microsoft Office
A proactive, team-oriented approach
