StaffCo are recruiting for an experienced Transport Supervisor for our clients operation in Portbury. This role would suit someone with a strong understanding of transport operations and legal compliance. Ideally having knowledge of warehouse operations also.

Scroll down for a complete overview of what this job will require Are you the right candidate for this opportunity The Role Manage, direct and monitor the transport operations and overall performance of the delivery teams to increase efficiency and maximise service and performance. Day to day task such as route planning, resource allocation and management/driver supervision. Effective communication and support of the delivery teams. Maintain morale of the delivery teams through engagement and carrying out 1-2-1's with core employees. Support the warehouse department with any transport related issues Assist the Transport Manager with recruitment, training and coaching of delivery teams. Working five from six days Mon to Sat, Shift work 04:30 to 13:00/12:30 - 21:00. Required Experience Experience and understanding of logistics supply chain. Experience and understanding of the movement of vehicles and associated activities and compliance. Understanding of all relevant driving legislation including tachograph policies, driving hours and the road Traffic Act. Line management experience Understands how to use IT/technology. Key Skills Able to implement and manage change Budget and Financial Skills Able to resource plan, ensure maximum use of resources in cost-effective manner. People line management and effective people skills. Clear communication and collaboration at all levels, e.g. customers, colleagues and direct reports. High level of self-awareness and takes accountability for own development. Technical understanding.
