Your financial oversight ensures that every pound is used effectively to support people affected by cancer. By guiding budgeting, compliance, and strategic planning, you help us deliver peer support, advocacy, and community programmes that reduce isolation and improve health outcomes. Your expertise will empower NCV to remain transparent, resilient, and ready to reach more underserved communities. What are we looking for?
Financial Expertise
Solid understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting. Ability to interpret financial statements and advise on sustainability.
Integrity and Accountability
High ethical standards and commitment to transparency. Willingness to act in the best interests of the charity and its beneficiaries.
Attention to Detail
Accuracy in reviewing figures and identifying risks. Strong organisational skills for managing compliance.
Strategic Thinking
Ability to see the bigger picture and align financial decisions with NCV’s mission. Comfortable advising on long‑term planning and risk management.
Communication Skills
Clear and confident in explaining financial matters to non‑financial trustees. Collaborative approach to working with the Board and CEO.
Commitment to NCV’s Values
Passion for patient‑led advocacy and improving cancer care. Understanding of the voluntary sector and community impact.
Reliability and Availability
Consistent attendance at meetings and timely responses. Willingness to dedicate approx. 4–6 hours per month.
