Trustee – Treasurer Job ref: 25135 Job type: Permanent Location: Horizon House Salary: Unremunerated Closing date: Wednesday 24 Dec 2025 15:00 Job Summary To contribute to the strong governance of Northern Ireland Hospice, working at a strategic level to ensure that the organisation meets its charitable objectives. To deliver the duties and responsibilities of a Company Director as set out in the Companies Act(s) and those of a Trustee, as required by law and the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland. To act as Treasurer for NI Hospice, responsible for the overall financial health and stewardship of NI Hospice, overseeing financial transactions, budgeting and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Experience Required

Experience of working at a senior management or governance level. This can be in the voluntary, public, or private sectors. Experience of operating at a strategic level, including strategic planning and development. Experience in executive level financial decision making and have a high degree of financial acumen. Expertise in customer relationship management and knowledge of digital development and digital transformation strategies. Key requirements for the role include: Possessing significant financial awareness obtained from operating at senior executive level in a financial environment, preferably with a recognised accountancy qualification. Providing expertise through informed financial decision making and overseeing financial management practices at senior level. Adept in identifying financial risk and implementing strategies for mitigating same. Providing advice and guidance to the Board of Trustees on financial health and stewardship, financial regulation and best practice. Attending and participating in relevant Committees, sub‑groups of the Board of Trustees.
