UK Tax Manager

The UK Tax Manager will oversee and manage all UK tax compliance, reporting, and strategy for the group. This role ensures the business adheres to relevant tax laws while optimizing its tax position, with a strong focus on VAT and corporate tax.Responsibilities include:Manage the preparation and submission of corporate income tax, VAT, and other tax returns.Ensure timely and accurate reporting, disclosures, and provisions.Work with external advisors and auditors to resolve issues and maintain compliance.Lead VAT compliance and reporting processes.Provide advice on VAT recovery, intercompany flows, and cross-border transactions.Ensure VAT treatments are accurate and optimized.Support tax strategy and planning with the Head of Tax.Lead UK group tax forecasting, budgeting, and provision processes.Support on M&A transactions and reorganisations.Oversee transfer pricing policy and documentation.Manage benchmarking, reporting, and intercompany agreements.Identify and manage tax risks across all tax types.Lead HMRC audits, enquiries, and negotiations.Monitor changes in legislation and advise on impact.Collaborate with finance, legal, and operations teams.Provide advice on tax implications of new projects and contracts.Maintain strong relationships with HMRC, auditors, and advisors.Requirements:ACA, ACCA, CTA (or equivalent).3-5 years' experience in tax, with strong VAT and corporate tax knowledge.Technical expertise in VAT law, corporate tax regulations, and transfer pricing.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to prioritise and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.Desirable:Group tax accounting and advisory experience (M&A, reorganisations).Knowledge of international tax matters.Ability to communicate complex tax issues simply and effectively.We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all employees to share this commitment and undertake appropriate checks.
