US Tax Senior Manager

Pure Search are exclusively partnered with a global tech company looking to hire a US tax expert to join the existing team in London.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end income tax reporting cycle in accordance with U.S. GAAP, with primary ownership of ASC 740 calculations, consolidated tax positions, financial statement disclosures, and alignment with external auditors.
  • Oversee quarterly and annual tax provision requirements, including total tax expense, deferred tax balances, valuation analyses, uncertain positions, effective tax rate reconciliation, and related disclosures.
  • Design, enhance, and maintain tax close processes and the supporting SOX control framework, ensuring strong internal controls, documentation standards, and audit readiness.
  • Manage the accounting implications of equity-based compensation and collaborate with external advisors on cross-border cost allocation and intercompany methodologies.
  • Identify and implement automation and technology solutions to improve reporting efficiency, data integrity, and risk mitigation across tax processes.
  • Provide technical tax guidance to cross-functional stakeholders, support strategic and operational initiatives (such as restructuring, acquisitions, audits, and international matters), and prepare detailed documentation to support financial statement review and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • US Tax experience having worked in an in-house tax function
  • SOX control, US GAAP & ASC 740 experience
  • Ability to travel into the London office 3 days per week
  • Sponsorship is available for US residents looking to move over to the UK

This is a full-time role based in London 3 days per week, paying up to £120,000 + bonus, benefits and shares scheme options.
