Valuations - Energy, Infrastructure & Environment - Associate Director (4970) Forvis Mazars Energy, Infrastructure & Environment practice is trusted by leading investors and developers to deliver a broad range of services. The Infrastructure Finance business unit provides modelling, model audit, valuations, training and advisory services to clients across EMEA and the Americas from regional hubs in London, Paris, New York, Toronto, Johannesburg and Delhi. Job Purpose To support Partners and Directors in further developing the Advisory and Valuations service lines within Forvis Mazars through the delivery of a high‑quality service across a range of clients within the energy & infrastructure sector – acquisitions, valuations, sales, fundraisings, bid advisory and debt raisings. We are looking for the right person to help drive the business forward. The right person would:
Lead advisory and valuation assignments, balancing advisory and valuations work, providing commercial and sector‑based direction to sector specialists. Build strong client relationships with commitment to first‑rate service and curiosity about client business and assets. Use PowerPoint and report writing skillfully while maintaining intellectual curiosity. Interpret, sense‑check and run Excel‑based financial models with 3‑way financial statements. Commit to business development as well as project execution. Have significant experience in the energy and infrastructure sector.
The role could be at Associate Director or Manager level, depending on experience. At AD level, expect more autonomous client relationships and business development. Professional Responsibilities Project Delivery
Manage the delivery of advisory engagements, including preparing transaction documentation – business plans, information memorandum and financial models; researching potential buyers/sellers; running assignments; managing larger transactions; building strong client relationships; providing tactical advice; ensuring billing and quality procedures; managing budget. Manage the delivery of valuation engagements, including producing a project plan, analysing information, raising questions, reviewing market evidence, running sensitivities, reviewing calculations, report writing, financial management of projects, ensuring quality procedures; developing client relationships; coaching junior professionals.
People & Product Development
Help develop client deliverables, processes and team by ensuring they are informed by sector dynamics. Act as a mentor to junior team members, coaching and development. Review work and provide informal feedback. Ensure deliverables are visually effective and clear. Build market relationships and knowledge to keep valuations up to date. Promote a culture of learning across the team. Potential line management responsibilities for staff in London, Delhi and Pune.
Business Development & Broader Team Engagement
Develop market intelligence and sector knowledge to prepare for new deal opportunities and pitches. Take lead on proposal documents for new opportunities and help convert them. Build an external network and strengthen relationships with existing and target clients. Support marketing activity and build own market profile. Build an internal network within Forvis Mazars to maximise the value we bring. Work with Transaction Services, Tax and other advisory teams. Promote Forvis Mazars energy and infrastructure sector knowledge within the firm.
Key Requirements
At least 6 years experience in advisory and valuation work in the energy and infrastructure sector (8 years for Associate Director). Strong track record in M&A or financing transactions. Good industry understanding and key sector trends. Demonstrable project management skills and ability to meet tight timetables. Strong financial modelling capabilities and valuation techniques. Track record of building enduring client relationships. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Pro‑active, confident team player. Managing junior members of the team (for Manager level). Understanding of engagement and risk processes in an accountancy firm. ACA or CFA desirable but not essential. Fluency in English mandatory; second EU language desirable. Self‑motivated, ambitious and hard working.
