On behalf of the Met Office, we are looking for a Vetting administrator (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract based hybrid in Exeter.

As a Vetting Administrator, your main responsibilities will be: * Manage the full end-to-end vetting lifecycle for staff, contractors, visiting scientists, collaborators, and work placement students, including new applications, renewals, and leavers, in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) * Process and manage vetting applications on the relevant systems, including preparing and submitting applications and liaising with UKSV as required. * Confirm and transfer existing security clearances held with other government departments, overseeing the process through to completion and actioning outcomes promptly * Maintain the Met Office security clearance database, ensuring records are accurate, up to date, and reflect individuals' current clearance status at all times. * Produce and manage photographic, temporary, and access passes, ensuring passes accurately align with an individual's clearance level and that pass system records are consistently maintained * Monitor and manage the Security inbox, responding professionally and promptly to internal and external queries via email, telephone, and face-to-face interactions. * Record, investigate, and action security incidents, escalating issues appropriately in line with security * procedures. * Work closely with Reception, ensuring visitors have the correct identification, access permissions, and security clearance before entry is permitted. * Provide high-quality administrative support across the Security function, demonstrating strong attention to detail and confidentiality at all times Essential: * Strong administrative skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy * Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment * Clear and confident written communication skills * Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Desirable: * Experience in security, vetting, or a regulated environment desirable (but not essential) Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
