Variable Hours (1-3 days a week) The Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is now seeking a dynamic and inspiring Vocational Skills Assessor to assess learners on a variety of programmes across the School which may include Level 1, 2 and Level 3 in Barbering. You’ll undertake assessments in the College salons and other practical areas including online testing, providing prompt and constructive feedback to candidates after the assessment and ensuring that a professional image is portrayed at all times. There may be occasions when assessment may be conducted in the learner’s workplace. Ensuring a strong client base in the Commercial salons, you’ll ensure income targets are met and you’ll support the teaching teams and learners to work professionally and develop and achieve commercial, employability, enterprise and workskills. As our Assessor, we’d like you to hold professional qualifications with a reputed awarding body or recognised TDLB Assessor Awards (D32, D33) or TDLB new A1 Award for Assessors (or willing to work towards). You’ll have established recent experience within the Barbering industry either through a professional development file (CPD) or recent salon experience as a commercial master barber. With NVQ 2 and 3 Barbering Qualifications, you’ll ideally hold an IV Award and Health and Safety Qualifications for work based visits. You’ll be an excellent communicator with good IT skills or a willingness to gain these. Closing date for the return of completed applications is 3rd April 2026.
