Job Description
Main Purpose of the Role\nTo lead, optimise and continuously improve warehouse operations by driving a high-performance culture, ensuring outstanding service delivery, and aligning daily activities to organisational goals. This role is responsible for operational excellence, strategic planning, people leadership and financial stewardship across the warehouse function.\nShift : 23:00-08:00\nKey Responsibilities\nLeadership & People Development:\nLead, coach and develop Warehouse Supervisors to deliver operational excellence and consistent leadership across all shifts.\nFoster an environment of accountability, resilience and adaptability within the team.\nSupport recruitment, selection and onboarding to build a high-performing operational team.\nOversee appraisal processes, competence assessments and ongoing development frameworks.\nOperational Excellence & Continuous Improvement:\nAnalyse complex operational challenges and implement pragmatic, effective solutions.\nPromote and uphold company values across all warehouse activities.\nDrive best-practice logistics processes, ensuring consistency and continuous improvement.\nPrioritise workflows across multiple warehouse processes to maximise efficiency and service quality.\nEnsure inbound and outbound schedule adherence while maintaining productivity and service targets.\nPerformance, Data & Reporting:\nAnalyse daily performance metrics, identify performance gaps and set measurable improvement targets.\nSet, review and assess KPI performance for direct reports, ensuring alignment with business objectives.\nMonitor operational accuracy, including picking errors and stock integrity, taking corrective action where needed.\nReport on operational outcomes, highlighting risks, opportunities and required interventions.\nFinancial & Resource Management:\nLead budget management, cost-control measures and forecasting activities.\nAllocate resources effectively across teams, processes and peak workloads.\nDrive initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and reduce non-value-added cost.\nStakeholder Engagement & Communication:\nEnsure effective communication across teams and key stakeholders to maintain alignment and support collaborative working.\nWork closely with cross-functional teams to resolve logistics challenges while protecting service quality.\nSafety, Risk & Compliance:\nEnsure all warehouse activities comply with Health & Safety and environmental requirements.\nPromote a proactive safety culture through leadership behaviours, standards and accountability.\nNature & Scope:\nPeople Responsibility: Leadership of a large operational team, including Warehouse Supervisors and multi-disciplinary colleagues.\nFinancial Responsibility: Accountability for delivery of KPIs and departmental budget performance.\nAuthority Limits: Operates within company policies and governance frameworks.\nEssential Skills & Experience:\nProven leadership capability with experience managing large operational teams.\nStrong communication, influencing and stakeholder-management skills.\nCustomer-focused mindset with high attention to detail.\nAdvanced analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to interpret operational data.\nExperience in FMCG or high-volume warehouse operations.\nDesirable Skills & Experience:\nExperience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).\nBackground managing large operational teams within logistics or distribution.\nExposure to transport operations.\nExperience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).\nWhat you can expect from our client:\nA senior leadership role with significant influence on operational strategy and transformation.\nA supportive and inclusive ‘Employees First Choice’ culture.\nA collaborative, values-driven culture focused on excellence and continuous improvement.\nThe chance to shape and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.\nBeing part of a stable, established organisation with a strong industry reputation.\nIf you are interested in our job offer, please apply today or give us a call.
