As part of this growth, were expanding our Warehouse Solution Design team and looking for a Senior Warehouse Solution Design Manager to help shape, define and deliver the solutions that will power XPOs future success.This is a role where youll influence how we design warehouse solutions across our Dedicated & Supply Chain business, play a visible part in major bids and customer engagements, and help evolve the tools, processes and capability of the solution design function. Work across every part of the business collaborating with Sales, Strategic Development, Operations, Commercial Finance, IT, HR, H&S, PMO and more. Lead the full solution design lifecycle, from data analysis and modelling through to costed proposals and customer presentations. Shape solutions that balance service, cost, resilience, scalability and future growth. Play a key role in winning major new business, renewing key contracts and optimising existing operations. Support implementation teams to ensure solutions land successfully and deliver the intended performance, cost and service outcomes. What youll be doingDesigning outstanding warehouse solutions Lead the end-to-end warehouse solution design process for new business, renewals and major change initiatives. Translate detailed customer requirements and operational data into clear, customer-centric solutions. Shape solution strategies that deliver the right blend of service performance, cost efficiency and operational resilience. Modelling, costing and developing solutions Analyse complex customer data sets including volumes, SKUs, stock profiles, throughput and flows. Develop warehouse layouts, process flows and operating models using tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp or similar. Build labour models, resource assumptions and capacity requirements. Identify and evaluate automation and mechanisation opportunities. Build and validate cost models, pricing assumptions and business cases in collaboration with Commercial Finance. Ensure all solutions are operationally feasible, compliant and deliverable. Working closely with customers and internal teams Partner with Sales and Strategic Development teams to support bids, tenders and customer proposals. Attend customer meetings and lead solution workshops, reviews and design sessions. Liaise with subject-matter experts across Operations, Facilities & Real Estate, IT, H&S, HR, PMO and Legal. Support the creation of proposal content, presentations and executive summaries. Supporting implementation and continuous improvement Support start-up and implementation teams to ensure solutions land successfully. Refine and validate solutions during early operational phases. Participate in solution reviews for live operations to ensure delivery aligns with the designed solution. Identify opportunities to improve service, cost efficiency and operational performance. Contribute to the development of solution design methodologies, tools and templates. Share best practice and help build capability across the Solution Design community. What youll need to succeedEssential Significant experience in warehouse solution design within logistics, supply chain or 3PL. Proven experience designing solutions for new business bids, renewals and optimisation projects. Strong understanding of warehouse operations, labour modelling, automation and key cost drivers. Ability to analyse complex data sets and translate them into practical, value-adding solutions. Confident engaging with customers and senior stakeholders. Advanced proficiency in warehouse layout and modelling tools (AutoCAD, SketchUp or similar). Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects. Desirable Experience across both dedicated and shared-user warehouse environments. Commercial acumen, including cost modelling, pricing assumptions and business case development. Exposure to solution implementation and operational mobilisation. Knowledge of emerging warehouse technologies and automation trends. Experience working closely with Sales or Commercial teams in a bid environment.
