Job Description

Our public sector client are looking for a Waste Management Technician on a part-time basis.\n\nService - Contracts & Compliance – Waste Management\n\nHours - 22 hours per week (3 days)\n\nRole Purpose\n\nTo support the Waste Management Officer in managing waste and recycling contracts, ensuring compliance, service continuity, and value for money.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * \n\n Support management of waste contractors in line with contractual requirements.\n\n * \n\n Assist in ensuring disposal facilities are available during Bank and Public Holidays.\n\n * \n\n Support Waste Collection Authorities during fly-tipping incidents and ensure compliant disposal routes.\n\n * \n\n Assist in developing and delivering savings and efficiency initiatives.\n\n * \n\n Support effective delivery of waste and recycling contracts, maintaining positive relationships with authorities and contractors.\n\n * \n\n Analyse and report on performance data, including cleansing datasets and producing reports for senior management.\n\n * \n\n Liaise with authorities and contractors to resolve issues including invoicing, account queries, and Duty of Care compliance.\n\n * \n\n Manage small value waste and environmental contracts and support high value contracts as required.\n\n * \n\n Support the Team Manager and Principal Waste Contracts Officer, including providing cover when needed.\n\nSkills & Experience\n\n * \n\n Experience in contract support, waste, environmental or compliance-based services.\n\n * \n\n Strong data analysis and reporting skills, including use of pivot tables.\n\n * \n\n Good communication and stakeholder management skills.\n\n * \n\n Understanding of Duty of Care and compliance requirements, or willingness to learn.\n\nAdditional Requirements\n\n * \n\n Commitment to information security, equality, , and .\n\n * \n\n Ability to work collaboratively and support service development
