Job Description
Waste & Sustainability Manager
We are looking for a full-time Waste & Sustainability Manager to join the team in our Property, Safety & Sustainability department, based at Head Office.
The Role
The Waste & Sustainability Manager will lead the development and implementation of strategies to reduce waste, improve recycling, and drive sustainability initiatives across The Klondyke Group. This role ensures compliance with environmental legislation, promotes best practices, control costs and supports the company’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint.
What you will be doing as a Waste & Sustainability Manager ?
Waste Management
\n \n Compliance: Ensure adherence to Health & Safety and Environmental legislation, including Duty of Care obligations
\n
\n Legislation: Stay up to date with waste legislation; flag required changes to the Senior Team, develop solutions, and implement agreed actions.
\n
\n Sustainability: Drive diversion of waste from landfill to alternative disposal methods, following the waste hierarchy and sustainability principles.
\n
\n Cost Control: Minimise costs by ensuring contract value for money, efficient waste handling, and identifying income stream opportunities.
\n
\n Waste Procedures: Ensure coherent waste procedures are in place and communicated across the team; deliver training where required.
\n
\n Waste Stream Map: Compile and maintain accurate Waste Stream Maps for each site to guide managers on waste handling and disposal.
\n
\n Monitoring Compliance: Develop and implement audit and inspection programmes to ensure centres follow waste procedures.
\n
\n Waste Recording and Reporting: Record all waste data and develop KPIs to benchmark and compare centres, publish data at least quarterly.
\n
Sustainability
\n \n Leadership: Act as the principal focus for sustainability within the organisation.
\n
\n Sustainability Programme : Develop and implement a sustainability programme aligned with company objectives
\n
\n Sustainability Forum: Coordinate activities of the Sustainability Forum, ensuring alignment with company goals, sharing best practices, and driving continual improvement.
\n
\n ESG Reporting: Collect, collate, and report on sustainability activities and achievements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Work towards bringing carbon accounting in-house.
\n
Maintenance Support
\n Maintenance : Support the Property Manager as required, including raising orders, filing records, collating/analysing data, and initiating minor works.
Where will you be working?
The role is based at Klondyke Head Office in Grangemouth. However, there will be a need for frequent travel to Group premises across the UK and some overnight stays will be required. A pool car will be provided when required.

Must hold a full UK driving licence.
