Drainage Team Leader – Brentford/South West London
We are currently seeking an experienced Drainage Team Leader to oversee and support operational teams working across drainage and wastewater networks in Brentford & South West London.
This is a hands-on leadership role, where you will not only lead a 2-person team but also actively carry out installation and maintenance work alongside your teammate.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in utilities or drainage who is confident leading from the front and delivering work to a high standard.
Role Details
* Permanent position
* 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
* Salary is flexible dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a 2-person team on site, setting standards and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently
* Actively carry out installation and maintenance work alongside your teammate
* Install and maintain sewer depth monitors and flow survey equipment at designated network locations
* Conduct site assessments to ensure safe and compliant working practices
* Carry out equipment calibration, maintenance, and fault finding
* Complete and review digital job sheets, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
* Act as the main point of contact between operatives, project managers, and clients
* Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety standards, including confined space entry procedures
* Take responsibility for the safety of the team, site, and members of the public
* Support and mentor less experienced operatives where required
* Carry out manual tasks including lifting manhole covers
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience within drainage, wastewater networks, or utilities
* Experience with flow monitoring, telemetry, or sensor-based equipment
* Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
* Confined Space certification (essential or willingness to obtain immediately)
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations and safe systems of work
* Good IT skills, including completing digital reports and job sheets
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Physically fit and comfortable working in demanding environments
* Full UK manual driving licence (essential)
