Weekend Sous Chef

Seacroft is a busy, multiple-couple touring and camping site with 123 touring and camping pitches that is open to guests all year. We are looking for applicants to operate on a permanent, 12-month annualised hours contract (based on an average of 35 hours per week), starting as soon as possible.
Reporting to the Head Chef, you will assist in managing the kitchen and kitchen team, ensuring adherence to Caravan and Motorhome Club health and safety policies, providing a high quality service and experience to our Members and non-members.
You must be flexible in your approach as no two days are the same. Suitable applicants must have demonstrable experience gained within the hospitality/tourism industry. Ideally you will have previous people management skills and you will be able to demonstrate excellent customer service.

*Purpose of job:* To effectively work alongside the kitchen team to achieve the highest standard of food production, deputising for the Head Chef in their absence. To assist with the management of the food cost in line with the budget, source ingredients in accordance with the Club’s sourcing policy and control production and portions in line with agreed specifications. To ensure that we are delivering great guest service with a team that is engaged and trained.
*Key Tasks/Accountabilities:*
* Produce and deliver meals to a specified high standard in accordance with current menus and brand expectations.
* Act as the primary support to the Head Chef, including running the kitchen in their absence across specified breakfast and evening shifts.
* Work with the Head Chef and kitchen team to develop menus and offers that reflect guest demand and support the site’s brand.
* Manage daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth service and consistent food preparation and presentation.
* Understand and consistently apply Club policies regarding ingredient sourcing and operational procedures.
* Assist with the control of food cost targets and maintain accurate pricing data, reporting any increases to your manager.
* Assist with maintaining stock levels through weekly counts and use due diligence paperwork to ensure effective waste management.
* Work in strict respect of Health & Safety and food hygiene legislation, ensuring you hold the necessary qualifications and training.
* Assist with the development of food hygiene management systems, including operational cleaning rotas for all production and service areas.
* Support and train team members with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to do their job successfully.
* Actively seek out guest feedback during service times to help improve the overall standard of the operation.
* Maintain a constructive, friendly working relationship with colleagues and attend all necessary training to develop your own potential.
*Essential Skills & Experience Required:*
* Previous experience within a Chef role
* Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification
* Experience of working in a hospitality environment
* Demonstrates a passion for and knowledge of the role
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels
* Ability to work effectively on your own as well as in a team
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to be innovative to develop new menu and recipe ideas
* Ability to motivate a team and support team members
* Ability to follow instructions
* Experience of H&S good practice
* IT literate, use of Microsoft Office. Experience of using G-Suite would be advantageous (Sheets and Docs)
