Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Welder Fabricator to join a well-established roof cladding company in Washington, a long standing client of CDM Recruitment. The role is primarily workshop-based and involves the fabrication of bespoke metal components used in roofing and cladding systems. The successful candidate will be experienced in operating fabrication machinery and producing high-quality work to precise specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Fabricate steel and aluminium components for roofing and cladding systems

*

Operate fabrication machinery including press brakes, guillotines, rollers, and saws

*

Carry out MIG welding to a high standard

*

Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications

*

Measure, cut, form, and assemble materials accurately

*

Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and tolerances required

*

Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health & safety regulations

*

Carry out basic machine maintenance and report any faults

*

Work closely with the production team to meet deadlines and customer requirements

Skills & Experience Required

*

Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator, ideally within sheet metal environments

*

Strong experience using fabrication machinery

*

Competent MIG welding skills

*

Ability to read and work from technical drawings

*

Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship

*

Strong understanding of workshop health & safety procedures

*

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Desirable (but not essential)

*

Experience working with roofing or cladding systems

*

Relevant welding or fabrication qualifications
