Job Description MIG/TIG Welder - Days Wellingborough Hours - Mon to Thurs 0700-1615, Fri 0700-1200 Salary - £36,500 - £17.55 ph
A well-established manufacturing organisation based in Wellingborough is currently seeking a high-quality TIG & MIG Welder to join its production team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role
Working within the production welding team, you will be responsible for assembling and welding complex instrumentation to exacting quality standards, using a range of jigs, fixtures, welding plant, and manipulators.
Key Responsibilities
\n Carry out TIG (and some MIG) welding to a consistently high standard
\n
Weld stainless steel components in line with engineering drawings and specifications
\n
Work towards welding across the full size and product range, meeting all quality requirements
\n
Undertake basic assembly tasks including pressure testing and helium leak testing
\n
Support production engineering with shop-floor documentation
\n
Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in line with housekeeping standards
\n
Support customer inspection activities when required
\n
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and new production methods
\n
Perform TPM and preventative maintenance tasks as required
\n
Work in full compliance with health, safety, and PPE requirements
\n
Skills & Experience Required
\n Minimum 5 years’ TIG welding experience within a manufacturing or high-technology environment
\n
Proven experience welding stainless steel to a high standard
\n
Welding qualifications/coding to EN287-1, ASME IX and/or PED
\n
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
\n
Good accuracy, consistency, and speed of work
\n
Comfortable working to deadlines in a small-batch production environment
\n
Basic PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
\n
Strong teamwork and communication skills
\n
Desirable Experience
\n Recognised engineering qualification (C&G, BTEC or similar)
\n
MIG welding capability
\n
Experience with exotic materials (e.g. 316, Duplex, Super Duplex)
\n
Nuclear coding experience (e.g. RCCM)
\n
Experience using automated lathes or turntables
\n
Flexibility to work occasional overtime at short notice
\n
