About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated and resilient Women’s Refuge Worker to join our team in Merton. This is a rewarding opportunity to support women and children who have experienced domestic abuse, helping them rebuild their lives in a safe and supportive environment.

You will play a key role in providing high-quality, trauma-informed support, ensuring residents feel safe, respected and empowered throughout their stay.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide practical and emotional support to women and children living in the refuge

* Complete risk and needs assessments and develop individual support plans

* Support residents with housing applications, benefits, legal appointments and access to specialist services

* Work collaboratively with external agencies including social services, health professionals and the police

* Maintain accurate, confidential case records

* Ensure the safety and security of the refuge at all times

* Participate in on-call or shift rota as required

About You

* Experience working with vulnerable women, ideally within domestic abuse or supported housing services

* Strong understanding of safeguarding and risk management

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Resilient, empathetic and non-judgmental approach

* Good IT and record-keeping skills

A relevant qualification in Health & Social Care, Domestic Abuse, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
