Workplace Strategy & Design Consultant Location: London The Workplace Strategy Consultant will lead the development of strategic workplace briefs for small and large-scale workplace projects. This includes the coordination and undertaking of strategic data gathering exercises of the physical, cultural, and technological aspects of a working environment, the analysis and presentation of these results. Working closely with key stakeholders and project teams, the information gathered will be translated into a meaningful concept, space budget and ultimate client brief that aligns with business drivers and supports the different workstyles of the organisation. The Workplace Strategy Consultant is required to work effectively at all levels of the organisation and confidently influence others, including executive leadership, toward a common vision. At the heart of this role is a pro‑active, client‑focused approach, where the ability to communicate and partner with multiple stakeholders is crucial. The role is ‘hands on’ and will require demonstrable project and change‑management experience. What You’ll Do:
Single point of contact for all workplace strategy related issues – key interface for client and project team Design and deliver visioning sessions, workshops and focus groups, proposals and reports Conduct and analyse quantitative and qualitative data from research such as surveys, utilisation studies Determine spatial requirements and development of space budget, understanding and knowledge of building code and occupational standards Understanding and knowledge of building regulations and occupational standards Synthesise research from internal and external sources into a workplace brief Workplace guidelines development, planning and design experience / knowledge base
What You’ll Need:
Design / CAD skills are essential as well as the ability to read, review and mine all types of drawing information for key metrics Graphic Design (technical and non‑technical skills) Strong understanding of current best practices and trends in the workplace and other architecture and design fields An appreciation of change‑management principles is valuable Ability to multi‑task on concurrent projects, under tight time frames A high level of initiative, self‑motivation, resourcefulness, and patience Strong quantitative/analytical skills and attention to detail Comfortable in translating large data sets into compelling findings Ability to present and articulate ideas and analyses Clear understanding of best practice and regulatory requirements around building occupancy. Practical hands‑on experience of profiling a business and developing a workplace strategy aligned to business need Can evidence knowledge of or experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods, agile/flexible/activity‑based working concept design, space budgeting, test‑fit creation/oversight, workplace concept/guideline development, and the use of technology as an enabler Softer skills relating to gaining business buy‑in/stakeholder management, relationship building, confidence to lead client conversations, sell the workplace proposition and deal with resistance around the proposed change Strong commercial acumen and business development experience (for higher grade positions) Experience in scoping, pricing, pitching, winning and delivering projects (for higher grade positions) Beneficial to have experience in specific sector (if recruited with specific sector in mind) People management (for higher grade positions)
