Workshop Engineering Manager We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Workshop Engineering Manager to join our clients dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in workshop management, HGV repair and maintenance, and a thorough understanding of LOLER, PUWER, and COSHH regulations. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency in our workshop operations.
Key Responsibilities Workshop Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring smooth workflow and maximum productivity
Develop and implement efficient systems and processes to optimise workshop performance
Manage workshop staff, including technicians, mechanics, and support personnel
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members
Identify training needs and organise appropriate training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment

HGV Repair and Maintenance: Oversee all aspects of HGV repair and maintenance operations
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for the fleet
Ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks are carried out to the highest standards and in compliance with manufacturer specifications
Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in HGVs
Stay up-to-date with the latest HGV technologies and repair techniques
Manage the procurement of parts and supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations), PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations), and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations
Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all regulatory requirements
Stay informed about changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments to workshop practices
Provide training and guidance to staff on regulatory compliance matters

Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control processes for all workshop operations
Regularly assess the quality of work produced by the workshop team
Investigate and resolve quality issues promptly and effectively
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for workshop quality and efficiency
