Workshop Plant Fitter

Salary: £35,000-£40,000 per annum
Hours: Monday-Friday, 07:00-17:00 (occasional Saturdays)
Holiday: 28 days including bank holidays
We are recruiting for a skilled Plant Fitter to join a busy workshop team based in Sheffield, supporting a respected provider of waste management and recycling services. The successful candidate will work on a wide range of plant and machinery used across the waste, recycling and bulk handling operations, ensuring equipment is maintained to high standards of performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and breakdown maintenance on plant machinery and equipment
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and inspections
Ensure plant and machinery meets safety and compliance standards
Complete accurate documentation, reports and job cards
Work within a busy workshop following safe systems of work
Support depot operations to minimise downtime and maximise fleet availability
Requirements
Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, Mechanical Engineer, or similar role
Strong mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis skills
Experience working on heavy plant, construction equipment or similar machinery
Ability to prioritise work, problem solve and work independently
Good communication skills and professional attitude
Comfortable following health and safety, compliance and workshop procedures
Salary & Benefits
Competitive salary: £35,000-£40,000 per annum
Monday-Friday (07:00-17:00) with occasional Saturday work
