You will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the yard, maintaining high safety standards and supporting overall site performance.Job ResponsibilitiesMonitor and direct all incoming and outgoing vehicle movements within the yardInspect and assess incoming waste to ensure compliance with site permitsGuide site users to the correct tipping and unloading areasEnsure all staff and visitors adhere to site rules and report any breachesMaintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation across the yardReport accidents and incidents in line with company procedures, supporting investigations where requiredWork closely with site management to support smooth and efficient operationsCandidate SpecificationPrevious experience within waste management, recycling, or metals industriesGood working knowledge of plant machinery and site operationsStrong awareness of health, safety, and environmental standardsAbility to identify areas for improvement and proactively resolve issuesWillingness to support team members and take on additional responsibilities when neededExperience operating a weighbridge is advantageousSkills & Competencies:Strong understanding of goods vehicles and site traffic managementBanksman training (essential)Good interpersonal and communication skillsStrong organisational abilitiesBenefitsFull-time, 45-hour contract with overtime opportunitiesAlternate Saturday working (7:00am - 12:00pm)Workplace pension schemeLife assurance (2x salary)28 days holiday including bank holidaysCompany-provided PPEFree on-site parkingSupportive team environment with regular company social eventsJBRP1_UKTJ
