We are delighted to be working with a fantastic primary school in Haringey that is seeking a committed and experienced Year 1 Class Teacher to join their team for the full academic year from September 2026 to July 2027. Role Overview

Position: Year 1 Class Teacher (KS1)
Start Date: September 2026 - July 2027
Location: Haringey
Pay: MPS 3-4 Inner London (£226.86 - £237.64 per day, PAYE)
Contract: Full-time, full academic year

Key Responsibilities

As a Year 1 Class Teacher, you will take full responsibility for the learning and development of your class, including:

Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the KS1 National Curriculum
Supporting pupils through the crucial transition from EYFS to KS1, ensuring continuity in learning styles and expectations
Delivering high-quality phonics sessions (e.g., Read Write Inc., Little Wandle, or similar programmes) and promoting early reading development
Assessing, tracking, and monitoring pupil progress, using data to inform planning and targeted interventions
Creating a stimulating, language-rich classroom environment that encourages independence and a love of learning
Managing classroom behaviour effectively using positive reinforcement and clear expectations
Supporting pupils with a range of needs, including SEN, EAL, and varying attainment levels
Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to support each child's development
Contributing to wider school life, including planning, meetings, and school events

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have strong KS1 teaching experience, ideally with direct Year 1 classroom responsibility
Be confident delivering systematic phonics and early reading strategies
Have a solid understanding of the EYFS framework and how to support a smooth transition into KS1
Demonstrate excellent behaviour management with a calm, nurturing, and consistent approach
Be passionate about raising attainment and supporting all learners to reach their full potential
Be a team player who is eager to contribute to a supportive and collaborative environmentPlease note: ECTs are not being considered for this position.
