Aspire People are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-led primary school in the M11 area of Manchester to recruit a dedicated Year 1 Teacher for a long-term position. This school has a strong focus on early learning, pupil wellbeing, and smooth transition from EYFS into KS1.

The school benefits from a supportive senior leadership team, experienced teaching assistants in every KS1 classroom, and a structured curriculum that allows teachers to focus on high-quality teaching rather than unnecessary workload.

The Role

As the Year 1 Teacher, you will take full responsibility for a settled class and play a key role in supporting pupils as they develop key phonics, reading, writing, and numeracy skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons in line with the national curriculum

Supporting pupils transitioning from EYFS into more structured learning

Delivering high-quality phonics sessions

Monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs

Creating a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment

Working closely with KS1 colleagues and experienced teaching assistants

Maintaining clear behaviour expectations using the school's positive behaviour policy

The Ideal Candidate

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Has experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 1

Confident delivering phonics and early literacy

Strong classroom management skills

Passionate about early education and pupil development

ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply
